William Allen “Bill” Roby, 70, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2024, in Lima. Bill was born on June 10, 1953, in Lima, to Clint Roby and Shirley Gaberdiel, who have preceded him in death. Bill grew up in Lima and graduated from Wapakoneta High School.
He was known for his kindness and generosity and would help anyone that he knew had a need. He was a carpenter, mechanic, artist and was affectionally known as an all-around “fix-it” kind of guy. In his younger years, Bill enjoyed horseback riding, riding motorcycles, restoring old cars and bicycles, and travelling around the country.
He felt his most precious treasures and accomplishments were his children that he loved more than anything. He was the most kind, loving and supportive father, who was always willing to offer his advice or just be a listening ear. His best words of advice were, “Do what makes you happy kid, life is too short to do anything else.”
Bill leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter, Anna Roby; son, Ryan (Laura) Brandt; brothers Rick (Elaine) Roby, Jim (Jill) Wierwille, Jon Paul “JP” (Sarah) Gaberdiel; and sister, Gina Gaberdiel.
A Memorial Service will begin at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta. Pastor Eric Anderson will officiate.
