William "Bill" J. Nowicki Jr., age 83, passed away January 12, 2015, at 3:05 pm, at the Auglaize Acres Nursing Home surrounded by his family.
Bill was born September 21, 1931 in Detroit, MI, to William and Lucille (Anglewicz) Nowicki who preceded him in death. On October 3, 1953 he married Mildred Blankmann Nowicki who preceded him in death on June 27, 1979.
Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served during the Korean War. He had worked for several years as an engineer with Superior Coach and Sheller Globe in Lima and at the end of his career he was working for Findlay Industries and retired from there in 1997. For 30 years, Bill also had worked as a farmer and maintained the family farm, all while raising a big family on his own. Not only did Bill enjoy farming, but he had a love for wood working. Bill was a long time member of the St. Johns Catholic Church, in Fryburg, OH.
Bill is survived by 2 sons; Jerry A. (Ann Neininger) Nowicki of Wapakoneta, OH, and Jim D. Nowicki of Saint Marys, OH, 5 daughters; Tammi Nowicki of Wapakoneta, OH, Pat Krugh of Saint Marys, OH, Lisa (Dan) Roop of Saint Marys, OH, Peggi (Darrell) Clark of Wapakoneta, OH and Terri (Mark) Ernst of Saint Marys, OH, a brother, Robert (Carmen) Nowicki of Auburn Hills, MI and 11 Grandchildren; Sara, Jeana and John Nowicki, Anna and Allie Ernst, Tyler and Jacob Nowicki, Derek, Lexi, Chase and Braxton Roop.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Ken Nowicki and 2 sisters; Rosemary Wisdom and Frances Ellsworth.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 10:30 am at the St. Johns Catholic Church in Fryburg, OH. Officiating the mass will be Fr. Pat Sloneker. Friends may call at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Wapakoneta on Friday, January 16, 2015 from 5-8 pm. Burial will be in the St. Johns Catholic Church Cemetery, Fryburg, OH following the service.
