William H. "Bill" Hutt, 94, of Wapakoneta died at 1:50 p.m. Friday August 23, 2013 at his residence.
He was born August 11, 1919 in Wapakoneta to John J. & Hazel C. (Vorhees) Hutt who preceded him in death. On March 3, 1939 he married Agnes R. Kuck who survives in Wapakoneta.
Survivors include a daughter Sharon A. (Lewis) Knoch of Wapakoneta, four grandchildren Kristine (John Chesbrough) Kah of North Port, FL, Lori (Rick) Koenig, Joshua (Karen) Hutt both of Wapakoneta, Shana (Travis) Samons of Murrieta, CA, eight great-grandchildren Darcy (Mike Gee) West, Holly and Kyle Koenig, Riley, Avery and Lincoln Hutt, Sadie and Sway Samons, and a daughter-in-law Shelia Hutt of Wapakoneta.
He was preceded in death by a son Steve Hutt.
Bill retired from Westinghouse in Lima after 37 years of service as a foreman. In the 1950's he created and developed the William H. Hutt Subdivision which is on Washington St. between Ohio and Buchanan Streets. He was known as a great carpenter who enjoyed remodeling homes. He was a veteran of WW II where he served in the Navy as a mechanic. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 8445 and a 60 year member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Wapakoneta.
Funeral services are scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday August 27, 2013 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta. Pastor Becky Sunday will be officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta with military rites begin performed by V.F.W. Post 8445. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
