William H. Garrett 68, of Wapakoneta died at 2:15 P.M. Friday December 28, 2012 at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
He was born August 15, 1944 in Columbus, OH to Howard R. & Dorothy L. (Webb) Garrett who preceded him in death.
On December 31, 1978 he married Lora L. Winget and she survives in Wapakoneta.
He is also survived by 5 children; Julie Smith, Penny Young, William II (Rachel) Garrett, Angel (Adam) Stahler, and Shaun (Bethany) Garrett, 10 grandchildren, and three sisters Delores Truman, Phyllis Talley, and Faye Bossert
He was preceded in death by two brothers Thomas & Jack Ellison.
William served our country in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam War and then served in the National Guard located in St. Marys. He was a firefighter, paramedic and patrolman for the City of St. Marys. He was also employed at Trim Trends in Spencerville for 20 plus years. He was a member of the Celina Lodge No. 919 A. F. & A. M. for nearly 40 years. He was president of the UAW Local 691 in Spencerville and was a member of the Auglaize County Buzzard Baiters. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Private funeral services will be held at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta. Friends may call from 6-8 P.M. Wednesday January 2, 2013 at the funeral home.
