William H. Brown, 62, of Wapakoneta died at 3:25 p.m. Tuesday January 7, 2014 at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
He was born on August 19, 1951 in Lima, OH to Lewis D. & Helen M. (Ruck) Brown who preceded him in death.
Survivors include a daughter and three sons; Christine (Kevin) Snider of Wapakoneta, Michael (Karen) Brown, Todd (Deana Mayorga) Brown and Randy (Iris Morales) Brown all of Miami, FL, three grandchildren Andrea Jeffrey, Derek and Natalia Brown, one great-granddaughter Sidney Stalnaker, a brother Richard (Candace) Brown, a sister Betty Suchland, two sister-in-laws Carolyn and Elizabeth Brown and a brother-in-law Art Fischer.
He was preceded in death by two brothers; Donald and Robert Brown and a sister Ruth Fischer.
William was a 1969 graduate of St. Joseph High School in Wapakoneta. He then served in Viet Nam with the United States Army. He was employed at Plastipak in Jackson Center where he had worked for 14 years. In his younger years he had played softball for the Chalet Inn and was an avid sports fan always rooting for Ohio State University, Cincinnati Reds and the Cleveland Browns. He especially loved his children and grandchildren.
Memorial services are scheduled to begin at 12:00 p.m. on Friday January 10, 2014 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta with Pastor Kent Hollis officiating. Military rites will be performed by the V.F.W. Post 8445 following the service. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
