Wayne E. Schultz, 75, of Wapakoneta died at 2:46 a.m. Wednesday September 11, 2013 at Lima Memorial Health System, Lima.
He was born in Auglaize County to Karl & Cleo M. (Miller) Schultz who preceded him in death. On June 26, 1959 he married Eileen E. Keysor who survives in Wapakoneta.
Survivors also include 5 children; Vicky (Dan) Hemmert of St. Johns, Sherry (Bill) Moon of Wapakoneta, Terry (Shelley) Schultz, Bobbi (Eric) Howell, and Andy (Chrissy) Schultz all of Wapakoneta, 25 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, a brother K. Max (Linda) Schultz, and a sister Shirley Denig.
He was preceded in death by 3 brothers Herman, Don, and Bob Schultz and a sister Marilyn Thrush.
Wayne was a lifelong farmer. He was also a patrolman for Wapakoneta Police Department, a security guard for St. Rita's Medical Center, and a corrections officer at Allen County Corrections where he retired from. He was also a part time employee with the Duchouquet Township Trustees and Mike Swayne Buick GMC in Wapakoneta. He was a member of the St. Johns Volunteer Fire and Rescue, Eagles, V.F.W. Post #8445 and Brands Lake. He was also a member of the Salem United Methodist Church for 10 years where he served as head trustee. He loved to play cards, travel, fish, do puzzles, and spend time with his grandchildren. He dearly loved Ohio State and was their biggest fan.
Funeral services are scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday September 14, 2013 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta. Pastor Becky Gray will be officiating. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
