Virginia Kantner, 89, of Wapakoneta died at 12:44 a.m. Saturday February 8, 2014 at Lima Memorial Health System, Lima.
She was born on April 12, 1924 in Shelby County, OH to Theodore L. & Eva L. (Barns) Kaufman who preceded her in death. On August 9, 1942 she married Aldo D. Kantner and he passed away on March 13, 1981.
Survivors include two sons; Dennis & Jeffry both of Wapakoneta, a sister Vera Hall of Sidney and a brother Robert Kaufman of Jackson Center.
She was preceded in death by a son Gary Kantner, two sisters Ethel Kempfer and Peg Schmoll and a brother Charles Kaufman.
Virginia was a lifelong farmer with her husband on their farm just east of St. Johns. She was also a school bus driver for the Wapakoneta City Schools. She was employed at Symond Decorating and then retired from Findlay Industries formerly Wapakoneta Products. After retirement she enjoyed much of her time traveling and taking cruises. She was a member of St. Johns Methodist Church, Shawnee Town & Country Club, King & Queens Club and Tri-County Social Club.
Graveside services are scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday February 12, 2014 at Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta. Pastor David Gordon will be officiating.
Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Johns Volunteer Fire & Rescue.
