Vickie I. Gibson, 67, of Wapakoneta, passed away at 12:51 p.m., Monday, August 27, 2018 at her residence in Wapakoneta.

Vickie was born on December 18, 1950 in Ft. Myers, FL.   John E. & Louella (Crow) Root preceded her in death.  On January 20, 1968 she married Aimel “Crip” Gibson at St. Rose Catholic Church, Lima who survives in Wapakoneta.  He was the love of her life and they lived a beautiful life together.

Survivors include their children; Elaine (Rick) Miller of Cridersville, Angela (Kerry Kiefer) Mox of Wapakoneta, David Gibson of Elida; granddaughters Tiffani Dawson, Emily Miller, Katie Miller, Stacy Miller; great-grandsons Trey Parkison, Dyllan Day, Hunter Day; sisters Julie Lee, Darlene Hammond, Lisa Root and her brother Jim Verbryke.

Vickie was preceded in death by  her brothers Steve and Jack Root.

Vickie was a life member of the V.F.W. Post #8445, AmVets #333 and a member of the American Legion #330 all of Wapakoneta.  She loved visiting all of these clubs and all of her wonderful friends.  Vickie dearly loved spending time with her children, granddaughters and great-grandsons.

Mass of Christian Burial  will begin at 10:30 a.m., Friday, August 31, 2018 at St. Rose Catholic Church, Lima.  Burial will be at a later date in St. Joseph Cemetery, Wapakoneta.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to V.F.W. Post 8445.
