Vernon "Butch" Burgoon

Vernon "Butch" Burgoon, 77, of Wapakoneta, passed away at 12:06 p.m., Thursday, December 16, 2021 at his residence.

He was born on January 1, 1944 in Wapakoneta, to Jack and Vivian (Musick) Burgoon who preceded him in death.  On November 17, 1962 he married Marian (Spayd) Burgoon who survives in Wapakoneta.

Survivors include 3 sons Tim Burgoon of TN, Keith (Billie) Burgoon of Springboro, Mark Burgoon of Celina; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; a sister Jackie (Ken) Numbers of Wapakoneta; a sister-in-law Judy Buhrow of FL and a brother-in-law Phil (Judy) Spayd of Lima.  He was the "American Dad" to Mary (David) Faler of Botkins.

Butch was preceded in death by a sister-in-law Sheryl Spayd; a brother-in-law Bob Buhrow.

Butch spent most of his working years for forklift dealerships as a Journeyman mechanic.  He belonged to the Eagles #691.  He enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling and loved being a grandpa.  He attended Harvest Baptist Church, Wapakoneta.

Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Pastor Gary Bragg officiating.

Family and friends may call from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
