Tom T. Cartmell, 92, of Wapakoneta died at 8:20 P.M. September 18, 2012 at his residence.
He was born on September 16, 1920 to Don S. & Druzella (Taylor) Cartmell in Wapakoneta who preceded him in death. On June 1, 1948 he married Mae Sheipline who survives in Wapakoneta.
Survivors also include; a daughter Vicky Cartmell of Wapakoneta, a brother in law Carl Sheipline of CA, and several nieces and nephews, Sandra and Debra Orr of Mackinac Island, MI, Marsha Orr of Australia, Nancy O'Dell of AZ, Mark, Sandra, Felicia, and Sean Temple, and Robert and Ingrid Sheipline all of CA.
Tom was a 1939 graduate of Blume High School in Wapakoneta. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy on the Ranger Aircraft Carrier for 3 years in the Atlantic Ocean during WWII. Tom then got into the television business in 1948 when he sold his first television to the V.F.W. in Wapakoneta. He was also a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church and V.F.W. Post 8445.
Funeral services are scheduled to begin at 10:30 A.M. Saturday September 22, 2012 at First United Methodist Church, Wapakoneta. Services will be shared by Pastor R.J. Davis and Wayne Lee. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery where military rites will be performed by the V.F.W. Post 8445. Friends may call from 4-7 P.M. Friday at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta.
