Timothy Joseph Kuehl, 65, of Wapakoneta, passed away at 1:55 p.m., Saturday, January 18, 2025 in his home, surrounded by his family. He was born on September 30, 1959 in Lima, to Robert & Mary (Mertz) Kuehl who have preceded him in death. On September 27, 1980, he married the love of his life, Andrea L. Harpest, who survives.
Surviving family also include three children, Alicia (John) Wagner, of Maumee, Justin (fiancée Lyndsy Copus) Kuehl, of Wapakoneta, Amber (Mark) Lammardo, of Wapakoneta; eight grandchildren, Liv, Jack, Emily, Camdin, Eli, Clayton, Dalton, Anika; two brothers, Daniel Kuehl and Karl Kuehl; one sister, Sandy Winget; brother-in-law, Thad Staley; numerous nieces and nephews; and his parents-in-law, John and Loretta Carter.
Timothy was preceded in death by a sister, Susie Staley; a niece, Pamela Lange; and sister-in-law, Cheryl Kuehl.
Tim and Andrea built a beautiful life together, just celebrating 44 years of marriage. Their bond grew even stronger as they raised three children and were blessed with eight grandchildren, who were the light of Tim's life.
Leading a life filled with adventure and a deep connection to nature, being an outdoorsman wasn't just a hobby for Tim; it was who he was. He was happiest in the woods, whether tracking deer at the break of dawn, sitting quietly in a tree stand, or sharing stories of the hunt around a fire. Whitetail deer hunting was his true specialty, and he pursued it with unmatched passion and expertise. His love for the outdoors didn't stop there-he excelled in hunting all kinds of game and found peace and purpose in the wilderness.
Tim also found immense joy in sharing his knowledge and passing down his love for nature to his children and grandchildren. Some of the family's most cherished moments were spent together in the great outdoors, learning from him and ensuring his legacy will live on through future generations.
You always knew when Tim was in the room-his larger-than-life presence and unapologetic energy made him impossible to miss. Whether through his strong opinions, his sense of humor, or his sheer determination, he left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Tim was always ready to lend a hand, help a neighbor, share his wisdom, tell a story (more like five), or give the shirt off his back if someone needed it. His loyalty to family and friends was unwavering.
Above all else, Tim was a devoted family man. Beneath his strong-willed exterior, he was a gentle giant with a heart of gold, especially when it came to his family and grandchildren. His love for them was boundless, and they brought out his softest, most tender side.
Although he is gone his legacy lives on in the people he touched. We carry his memory with us and it brings us comfort to know that so much of him is alive in family and friends. Tim will live on in every crisp morning, every rustle of leaves, every gathering around a table, and every shared story of the outdoors. His life was defined by integrity, resilience, and a sense of purpose, and his absence will be deeply felt.
