Thomas U. "Tom" Kennedy, 58, of Botkins passed away at 6:40 a.m. Saturday January 31, 2015 at Ebeid Hospice Residence, Sylvania, OH following an extended illness.
Tom was born October 29, 1956 in Sidney, OH to Donald L. & Eleanor L. (Kohler) Kennedy who preceded him in death. On April 29, 1978 he married Mary L. Cartwright and she survives in Botkins.
Survivors also include a son; Phillip T. Kennedy, a daughter Faye L. Kennedy, 2 sisters Christine (Jack) Koenig and Charlotte Cooper and a brother Patrick Kennedy.
He was preceded in death by an infant sister Kathleen Kennedy and a brother Timothy Kennedy.
Tom worked as a mechanic growing up with his families' business and was a 1975 graduate of Botkins High School. He then graduated from Northwestern Business College, Lima as a diesel technician. He was then employed at Provico in Botkins as a maintenance and diesel truck mechanic. He eventually transferred to the Provico Service Center where he was a millwright and multi-task employee. He delivered feed and supplies to Provico's customers throughout the states of Ohio and Indiana. Tom also installed, programmed and maintained some of the first computerized feeding systems for dairy farmers in the area. He later worked for Ring Corporation in Sidney for 10 years where he retired from due to health issues. Tom was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and NASCAR fan. He also took up and enjoyed gardening and collecting hats.
Per Tom's request there will be no visitation or services. A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the donor's choice.
