Thelma Ruth Hunlock

Thelma Ruth Hunlock, 79, of Wapakoneta, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2024 after a long and brave battle with Cancer.

Thelma was born on August 26, 1944 in Celina, OH to Frank and Georgia (Hostetler) Crosley who preceded her in death.  An only child raised on a farm in Shelby County, she moved to Lima and graduated from Lima Senior High School in 1962.   It was there she met the love of her life, Jeffrey L. Hunlock marrying on June 14, 1964.  They celebrated 60 years of marriage together and he survives.

She is survived by her daughter, Katherine and her husband, Mike Beatty and her son; Russ Hunlock and his wife, Michelle. She was extremely proud of her grandchildren, Ryan Hunlock, Nathan (Audrey) Hunlock, Marie (George) Bearer and Katie (Terry) Rudisill. She was also a special GG Thelma to her two great grandsons, Mason and CJ Bearer.

Thelma first and foremost loved her family and cherished the time she spent with them. Thelma worked for a number of years as financial secretary at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, where she was also an active member. Throughout her career she held financial and office roles at Gateway Arts Council in Sidney, Ohio, Smith Boughan and Koneta Rubber. She approached her work like everything in her life with great passion and commitment. She will be remembered and missed for her apple cream pie, love of antiques, competitive euchre spirit and kind heart.

Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 20, 2024 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Pastor Doug Pretorius officiating.  Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima.

Family and friends may visit on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Wapakoneta.
