Teresa Y. Leppla, 70, of Wapakoneta, passed away at 3:47 p.m., Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at Mercy Health - St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.  She was born on June 2, 1953, in Lima, to Foster L. & Gertrude A. (Stetler) Coil, who have preceded her in death.  On September 21, 2002, she married Gary P. Leppla, who survives at home with their furbaby, Peanut.

Teresa is also survived by six sons, Jason W. (Brent Romes) Schwartz, of Lima, Jay R. (Sheila) Schwartz, of Spencerville, Craig A. (Renda Finfrock) Leppla, of Wapakoneta, Travis R. Leppla, of Texas, Gary M. (Brooke) Leppla, of Bellbrook, and David N. (Heather) Leppla, of Wilmington; 16 grandchildren, Hailey, Brendon, Ayden, Olivia, Grace, Cierra, Jayden, Kylan, Reed, Dylan, Maggie, Gabriel, Zachary, Julia, Lily, and Anabelle; and her siblings, Rex Coil, of Springfield and Betty Howell, of Wapakoneta.

She was preceded in death by five siblings, Richard Coil, Edwin Coil, Laverne Coil, Wilma Gehron, and Larry Coil.

A 1971 graduate of Spencerville High School, Teresa worked a few jobs before finding her calling as an aide for St. Rita's Hospice.  For over 20 years, she brought comfort to her patients and their families and created lasting friendships with co-workers.  In her free time, or in preparation for any family gathering, Teresa could be found in the kitchen, baking pies or pumpkin rolls.  She was especially known for her old-fashioned cream and chocolate pies.  These recipes will continue to be passed down through generations, as Teresa shared them with her sons.  Teresa also enjoyed time spent in Tennessee, particularly the Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge area. However, nothing, not even pies or mountain views, could come between Teresa and her grandchildren.  They were truly her pride and joy.

Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services.  Chaplain Herb Wilker will officiate and burial will follow in St. John Cemetery, Freyburg.  Family and friends may visit from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Rita's Hospice.
