Shirley J. Gross, 89, of Wapakoneta passed away at 8:47 p.m. Saturday August 27, 2016 at her residence.
She was born on August 5, 1927 in Cleveland, OH to Ernest E. & Bessie E. (Ritchie) Young who preceded her in death. On February 23, 1946 she married Donald Gross and he passed away on December 24, 2004.
Shirley was a 1945 graduate of Blume High School.
She is survived by a son; Michael (Judy) Gross, a daughter Sarah (Maurice) DeVore both of Wapakoneta, 5 grandchildren Melissa (Michael) Pursell, Todd (Angela) DeVore, Sondi (John) Hassenauer, Shawn (Jenni) DeVore, Kim (David) Hoelscher and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant grandson, an infant granddaughter and a brother Edward and his wife.
The will be no visitation and a private family service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Uniopolis Volunteer Fire Department or to St. Johns Volunteer Fire Department.
