Sandra Kay Mitchell

Sandra K. Mitchell, 74, of Wapakoneta, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on November 5, 2022 at 6:10 a.m. at the Wapak Manor.  She was born on February 17, 1948 in Celina, to Doyle M. and Doris M. (Howell) Lhamon, who have preceded her in death.  On August 15, 1981, she married Jeff B. Mitchell, who passed away on January 8, 2017.

Survivors include her son, Rick (Erica) Rostorfer, of Hicksville; three daughters, Julie Schneider, of Wapakoneta, Mandy (Rob) Bradshaw, of Wagram, NC, Trisha (Nick) Gatchel, of Bluffton; daughter-in-law, Kendra Mitchell, of Wapakoneta; step-daughter, Kim (Sean) Grubb, of Wapakoneta; 18 grandchildren, Nathan, Emma and Justin Rostorfer, Kayla (Mick) Bowman, Collin and Kara Schneider, Chloe (Connor) Burr, Kassidy and Corbin Mitchell, Brandon Bradshaw, Braeden Jordan, Blayne Hill, Haleigh, Genevieve and Xandra Gatchel, Jocelyn Rahrig, Brianna and Nicholas Grubb; six great-grandchildren, Lilah, Lilly, Mary, Isabella, Adalynn, and Avianna; two sisters, Virginia Flahart, of AZ and Christine Fisher, of St. Paris; two sister-in-laws and two brother-in-laws, Karen Hackworth, Jim (Theresa) Denny, Taleene (Mike) Bartall, all of Cleveland, Dennis Denny, of Wapakoneta; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by two sons, infant Randall Rostorfer and Chad Mitchell; brother, Dennis Lhamon; brother-in-law, Nolan Fisher; father and mother-in-law, Joe and Mae Denny.

Sandy was a 1966 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School.  She had worked at Copeland Corporation, JB Tool & Machine and most recently WalMart.  Before her illness, she also worked as a real estate agent for a short time.

Private family services will be held in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Moulton at a later date.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Rita's Hospice, Wapak Manor, American Cancer Society, or a charity of the donor's choice.  Condolences may be expressed at www.schlosserfuneralhome.com  The family has entrusted Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services to handle the arrangements.
