Samuel Cassius Green, 52 of Wapakoneta died at 5:30 A.M. June 23, 2011 in the comfort of his home surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born January 5, 1959 in St. Marys to Murle E. & Berniece R. (Braun) Green. His mother preceded him in death and his father survives in Celina. On April 21, 1979 he married Anita M. Steinke who also survives.
Survivors also include 6 daughters; Jill (Matthew) Barber, Kimberly Green, Holly Green, Heidi (James) Skrobola, Samantha Green, & Amanda Green; three brothers and two sisters Andrew (Peggy) Green, Pamela (John) Brown, Joseph (Jan) Green, Donald (Denise) Green, and Ann (Fred) Giesige; five grandchildren Katherine, Caleb, Margaret, John and Christopher, and 30 nieces and nephews.
Sam was a 1977 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School. He was employed by Crown Equipment for over 20 years, working in the Tool Crib Division in New Knoxville and New Bremen. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Sam was warm and welcoming, enjoyed the outdoors, and worked tirelessly to create a fun and relaxing environment for family and friends to enjoy. Sam will be dearly missed and was a beloved husband and father of 32 years to his wife and children.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday June 27, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta. Rev. Patrick Sloneker will officiate. Friends may call from 2 to 8 P.M. Sunday at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services 615 N. Dixie Hwy., Wapakoneta.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. Rita's Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
