Ruth J. Tippie, 93, of Wapakoneta died at 9:05 p.m. Tuesday April 26, 2016 at Auglaize Acres, Wapakoneta.
She was born on June 4, 1922 in Lima, OH to Joseph H. & Elizabeth M. (Stelzer) Spees who preceded her in death. On November 23, 1940 she married Dallas E. "Tip" Tippie and he passed away on April 20, 1965.
She is survived by 8 children; Jerry Irene (William) Golden, Harold "Cork" Tippie, Byron (Rebecca) Tippie all of Lima, Larry Tippie of St. Marys, Patricia Slone of Lima, Timothy (Reba) Tippie of Sidney, Dolye Tippie II of Marion, Daniel Tippie of Lima, 23 grandchildren and 30+ great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant son Daniel Tippie, a son Doyle Tippie, 2 grandchildren Dallas Golden, Sheri Tippie, 2 great-grandchildren, a brother and a sister.
Ruth was a housewife and a 20 plus year member of the St. Johns Fire Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting and especially camping.
Graveside services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Friday April 29, 2016 at Woodlawn Cemetery, Lima. Rev Terry Brock will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the St. Johns Vol. Fire & Rescue.
The family would also like to thank all the staff at Auglaize Acres for the excellent care that was given to Ruth.
