Roger F. "Bud" Patton 83, of Wapakoneta died at 9:45 p.m. Thursday July 18, 2013 at his niece's residence.
Roger was born February 24, 1930 in Auglaize County to Lousetta and Robert M. Patton who preceded him in death.
He is survived by; a brother Paul C. Patton of Wapakoneta, two nieces Lora and Jim Wutrich of Altoona, PA, Lisa and Greg Salmons of Wapakoneta, and several great nieces and nephews, Mitchell Bailey, Jimmy Wutrich, Nicole Benline, James Benline, and close friends Gary and Nancy Foster of Alaska.
Bud graduated from Lima Central High School in 1948. He served in the National Guard and U.S. Army in the Korean War. In 1955 he and his brother Rich homesteaded in Alaska. He retired from the University of Alaska in 1985. He spent his last years in Wasilla before returning to Wapakoneta to be near his family in 2006.
He very much liked enjoying his extended family at Bob Evans and Lucky Steer in Wapakoneta.
Funeral services are scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. Saturday July 20, 2013 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta. Pastor Kenny Radar will be officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery near Uniopolis. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to St. Rita's Hospice for all the wonderful care he was given.
