Robert “Bob” Longworth, 51, of Wapakoneta, passed away at 8:58 a.m. Friday, March 4, 2022 at Mercy Health - St. Rita’s, Lima.  He was born on February 6, 1971 in Lima, to John H. Longworth & Susan “Suzy” Howard.  His father and stepmother, Shirley Longworth, survive in Wapakoneta.  His mother preceded him in death.

Survivors also include his significant other, Malinda “Jill” Kies, of Wapakoneta; four  children, Autumn Longworth & Mark Miller, of Waynesfield, and Colton Longworth & Courtney Stephens, Kayla & Kevin Bellman, and Jayse Longworth, all of Wapakoneta; six grandchildren, Alyssa Longworth, Adrian “Beau” Longworth, Isiah Weinstock, Gauge Weinstock, Jonathan Bellman, and Lucas Bellman; and three siblings, Tammy Anteau of Charolette, NC, Heide & Aaron Koenig of Botkins, and John & Jessica Longworth of Wapakoneta.

In his younger years Bob spent time hunting, fishing, and doing everything he could outdoors.  For many years of his life, he worked as a plumber at Cooks Plumbing & Heating with his best bud, Brian “Skippy” Cook.  He spent most of his time cracking jokes with Jill, his kids, grandkids and close friends.  He truly adored them all.  He could walk into a room full of strangers and walk out with a room full of friends.  He always had a joke of the day accompanied by a cold Budweiser and a shot of Jack Daniels.  He called his children many times during the day to check in and share something hilarious.  Most of the time he could barely make it through his joke without belly laughing.  Cooking has always been a longstanding hobby of his.  He always said to “never trust a skinny cook” and boy was he right!  His chicken was a crowd favorite and he loved when Jill made him a sugar cream pie.  He cooked many meals on Thanksgiving and Christmas for others who had nowhere else to go.  One of his favorite places to cook Thanksgiving dinner for was Amvets Post 333 in Wapakoneta, where he was a member.

The family would like to express their gratitude to all of Mercy Health - St. Rita’s doctors and nursing staff that helped with Bob’s care over the last three months.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2022 starting at 3:00 p.m. at Moe’s Dugout 4 located at 108 N. Wood Street in Wapakoneta.  There will be chicken dinners, raffles, t-shirts and entertainment.  Any money made will be donated to the family to help with any needed expenses.

Bob will be cremated and his ashes will be scattered in Apache Junction, Arizona, at the Superstition Mountains where his mother, Suzy, was laid to rest.

The family has entrusted Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services to handle the arrangements.
