Richard P. "Pat" Denney

Richard P. “Pat” Denney, 76, of Wapakoneta passed away at 3:50 a.m. on July 19, 2018 at Wapakoneta Manor following a brief illness.

Pat was born on November 23, 1941 in Bellefontaine, OH to the late Delbert and Iris (Parkins) Denney. He spent his younger days growing up around Auglaize County.

On September 2, 1961 he married the late Nancy White. They were married for 52 years before she passed away July 22, 2013.

He is survived by his children Carlene Chilcoat of Wapakoneta, OH, Jeff (Jessica) Denney of Celina, OH, Terry (Teresa) Eilerman of Houston, OH, Julie (Jon) Pfister of Lima, OH and Stephanie (Stevhen Ryane) Denney of Wapakoneta, OH.

Pat was also blessed with 10 surviving grandchildren; Brian Staley, Chris Staley, Shaun Meiring, Lindsey Haussenauer, Derek Eilerman, Lowell Chilcoat III, Kaden Serrano, Journey, Jaelyn & Jakoby Pfister, as well as 5 great grandchildren; Kristina Staley, CJ Staley, Preston Meiring, Bryant & Gage Eilerman.  He is also survived by long time friends, Don and Ruth Baker of Uniopolis, OH.

Pat was preceded in death 2 sisters Sharon Williams, Michelle Cleary and a grandson RJ Eilerman.

Mr. Denney worked many years at Clark equipment and later retired from General Dynamics. He was a jack of all trades and a bit of a hustler and “wheeler dealer.”  He enjoyed auto racing, fishing, anything related to guns, country music and old western movies.

Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday July 25, 2018 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta with Rev. Becky Sunday officiating.  Burial will follow at Buckland Cemetery.  Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
