Reuben J. Walton 89, of Waynesfield died at 12:39 A.M. January 31, 2013 at Heartland of Indian Lake.
He was born on June 16, 1923 in Wyandot Co. to Emery E. & Mildred V. (Roby) Walton who preceded him death.
On Jan 26, 1946 he married Mildred L. Walter who survives in Waynesfield.
Survivors also include two daughters; Karen Meyer of New Bremen and Linda (Terry) Kristoff of Elida, a son Albert (Terri) Walton of Waynesfield; 8 grandchildren Amy (Joshua) Opperman, John (Tina) Meyer, David (Kimberly) Meyer, Jennifer (Brian) Olson, Steven (Jennifer) Kristoff, Angela (Jamie) Decker, Ryan (Sara) Walton, Kristin Walton, 19 great-grandchildren, four sisters Clara Belle Sheaffer, Ilah Mae Osborn, Mary Clinger, Anna Fox, and two brothers Charles Walton & William Walton.
He was preceded in death by five brothers; Daniel, David, Franklin, Albert and James, son-in-law Bill Meyer, and a daughter-in-law LeMarill Walton.
Reuben was a lifelong farmer and steward of the soil. He was very innovative in his early days during the 1960's with starting to plant corn in 20" rows and no-till drilling. He contributed greatly to the churches that he attended. He was also very supportive of his family.
Funeral services are scheduled to begin 10:30 A.M. Tuesday February 5, 2013 at First United Methodist Church, Wapakoneta. Pastor R.J. Davis will be officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery, New Hampshire. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Monday at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
