Rebecca J. Wacker

Rebecca Jane Fitzgerald Wacker, 89, of Botkins formerly of Lake Placid, FL, passed away at 1:30 a.m., Sunday, June 12, 2022 at Wapakoneta Manor.
She was born on February 16, 1933 in Sidney, OH to Glenn and Marie (Develvis) Ike who preceded her in death. On August 3, 1957 she married James Joseph Fitzgerald Jr. and he passed away on February 24, 1987. Then on February 17, 2006 she married Bob Wacker and he passed away on March 8, 2016.
Survivors include 3 children Janell (Joe) Welker, James (Dulce) Fitzgerald III, Jennie (Steve) Sale; 4 step-children Deborah Wacker, Barry (Nancy) Wacker, Susan (Jack) Nordin, Charles (Jeanne) Wacker; 9 grandchildren Joseph (Jessica) Welker, Jerry (Jessica) Welker, Nicholas Welker, Charlotte Winters, James (Veronica) Fitzgerald IV, Samantha Fitzgerald, Jay (Katya) Frazier, Cody Roesser, Gary (Brittney) Roesser; 18 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters Jean (Robert) Swob, Lelia McKibben, Irene (Ron) Wilson, Annabelle (Billie) Brown and a sister-in-law Priscilla Ike.
She was preceded in death by a brother John Ike and a sister Edna (Clifford) Packman.
Rebecca was employed with First National Exchange Bank, Sidney, now US Bank, as the bank auditor for over 30 years before retiring to Florida. She was a member of the Shelby County Coin Club and Altrusa Club. She had lived in Florida for over 30 years where she was active in Lake Placid Garden Club, helping with the local food pantry Manta and helping the visiting nurses outreach at her church. Rebecca was an avid horticulturist and had an extensive collection of orchid and other flora, she loved to travel, and play cards and board games. Her greatest joy were her children and grandchildren.
Memorial services will begin at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at New Hope United Methodist Church, 8985 W. Mason Rd., Sidney with Rev. Josh Tissot officiating. Family and friends may visit from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Sidney.
Memorial contributions may be directed to New Hope United Methodist Church or to the Nick Welker Scholarship Fund benefiting local high school seniors.
