Raymond C. Murray, 69, of Wapakoneta expired at 4:40 p.m. Sunday May 1, 2016 surrounded by family and friends at Lima Memorial Health System, Lima.
He was born on August 21, 1946 in Waynesville, Missouri to Everett & Lillie Martin Murray, who have preceded him in death. On October 17, 1963 he married Jackie K. Achen, who survives in Wapakoneta.
Survivors also include his two children, Raymond C. & Peg Murray Jr., of St. Marys and Tina K. & Kevin D. Creviston, of Wapakoneta; three grandchildren, Amanda J. Murray, Trista K. & Alan Chess, and Kevin C. Creviston; three great-grandchildren, Michael J. Brown, Bradley J. Murray, and Rylee K. Chess; six siblings, Herman Murray, of Branson, MO, Alice Murray, of Waynesville, MO, Erma Skinner, of Crocker, MO, Enkie Rutko, of St. Roberts, MO, Edna Nelson, of New Franklin, MO, and Randy Murray, of Lacy's Spring, AL.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Henrietta Juede and Rosetta Schneider; and a brother, Clifford Murray.
Raymond proudly served in the United States Army, during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a truck driver for 38 years. He was a member of the Eagles, Aerie 691, Wapakoneta. In his free time, he could be founding hunting or fishing. But most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
A Memorial Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 6, 2016 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Deb Graham will officiate with military rites being performed by the V.F.W. Post 8445. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at a later date in the Dayton VA National Cemetery.
