Lorraine Griffith 92, of Wapakoneta and formerly of Sidney died at 6:30 P.M. on March 6, 2011 at The Gardens of Wapakoneta.
She was born November 25, 1918 in Logan County to Murray B. & Alberta L. (Hoffman) Griffith who both preceded her in death.
She is survived by a sister Betty Hughes of Bellefontaine; several nieces and nephews William (Kay) Hughes, Patricia (Robert) Folland, Richard Griffith, Donald (Jean) Griffith, David (Sharon) Helmlinger, and Sue Metzger; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother Charles Griffith, and two sisters Ann Pfaadt and Lillian Helmlinger.
Lorraine graduated from Huntsville High School and attended Bowling Green State University. She was a member of St. Jacob Lutheran Church in Anna. She retired after 35 years of service with Consolidated Metals Company in Sidney. She was a 50 year member of The Order of Eastern Star, Sidney Chapter No. 298, and was an avid sports fan.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 A.M. Thursday at St. Jacob Lutheran Church, Anna. Officiating will be Pastor Michael Althauser. Burial will follow at Rea Cemetery, Bloomfield Township Logan County.
Friends may call from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to The Gardens of Wapakoneta Activity Fund or to St. Jacob Lutheran Church.
