Polly Elaine Scherger, 62, of Wapakoneta, passed away at 6:35 a.m., July 7, 2018 at her home.  She was born January 18, 1956, in Lima, to Eugene L. and Rose L. “Posy” Hohenbrink Weber, who survive in Delphos.  On April 24, 1982, she married her childhood sweetheart, Robert C. Scherger, who survives in Wapakoneta.

Survivors also include two daughters, Rachel R. (Sean) Matthews, of Marysville, WA and Hannah M. (Grant) Chamberlain, of Bowling Green; three grandchildren, Finnegan Matthews, Nola Matthews, and Samuel Chamberlain; four brothers, Sidney (Kathy) Weber, of Delphos, Ned Weber, of Springfield, Kim (Jerilyn) Weber, of Springfield, and Chad (Jean) Weber, of Delphos; three sisters, Trude (Jeff) Menke, of Ottoville, Katrina (Doug) Noonan, of Hamilton, and Wendy (Dennis) Grothause, of Wapakoneta; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Polly was welcomed into Heaven by her brother, Guy Weber; sister-in-law, Susie Weber; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Louis and Rosemary Scherger.

A 1974 graduate of Delphos St. John High School, Polly completed her nursing degree at Lima Technical College.  She worked for a time at the Cleveland Clinic, but a majority of her career was spent at St. Rita’s Medical Center, before her retirement in January of 2017.  Since then, Polly enjoyed working part-time at Marimor School.  A member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, she was active as a lector and in the Stephen Ministry.  In her free time, Polly enjoyed keeping her hands busy.  Whether it be sewing, crocheting, or making a recipe in the kitchen, she loved to share the gifts of her talents with others.  Polly also spent quiet moments in prayer or reading her favorite books.

A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 14, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta.  Father Sean Wilson will officiate.  Burial of her cremated remains will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Delphos.  Friends may call from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, at SCHLOSSER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, Wapakoneta.  Memorial contributions in Polly’s memory may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta; St. John the Evangelist Church, Parish Foundation, Delphos; or St. Rita’s Hospice.  Condolences may be expressed at www.schlosserfuneralhome.com
