Phyllis M. Kaeck, 82, of Wapakoneta, passed away at 3:16 a.m., Friday, January 12, 2024, at Kindred Hospital, Lima, following an extended illness.  She was born on February 11, 1941, in Lima, to Edgar J. & Alice M. (Groves) Becker, who have preceded her in death.  On September 24, 1960, she married Ralph W. Kaeck, who survives in Wapakoneta.

Survivors also include three children, Susan (Tim) Theodore, of Lima, Barbara (Richard) Krites, of Wapakoneta, and Dan J. Kaeck, of Wapakoneta; 7 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild, with one more due in April; 2 brothers, Ron E. (Kamille) Becker, of Wapakoneta, and Gary (Evie) Becker, of Coldwater, MI; sisters-and-brothers-in-law, Edna Becker, Carol Jean (Larry) Schneider, Alfred (Norma) Kaeck, John (Darlene) Kaeck, Jim (Deb) Kaeck, Becky (Ron) Elsass, all of Wapakoneta, and Pat (Mark) Wiley, of Sidney; and many nieces and nephews on both sides of the family.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, Don W. Kaeck; her in-laws, William “Bill” & J. Lucille “Shorty” Kaeck; brother, James L. Becker; and sister, Donna Whetstone.

Phyllis graduated in 1959, as part of the first graduating class from Wapakoneta High School.  She retired from American Trim in 2004.  She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Wapakoneta.  Her hobbies included crocheting and sudoku puzzles.  Phyllis loved her grandchildren and always kept up with whatever they were involved in.

Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 18, 2024 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services.  Pastor Richard Sunderlage will officiate.  Burial will follow in the St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery on Pusheta Road.  The family will receive family and friends from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be directed to St. John’s Lutheran Church, Pusheta Road.  Condolences may be expressed at www.schlosserfuneralhome.com
