Phillip T. Kennedy

Phillip T. "Phil" Kennedy, 35, of Botkins, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2024 at his residence.   He was born on June 20, 1988 in Sidney, to Thomas U. and Mary L. (Cartwright) Kennedy.  His father preceded him in death and his mother survives in Botkins.

Survivors also include his sister, Faye (Andy) Brogan, of New Knoxville; girlfriend, Kelly Vice, of Miamisburg; and an extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins.

First and foremost, Phil will be remembered as a kind soul with a gentle heart.  He was a dedicated worker whose learning didn't end with graduation.  Phil enjoyed learning about fascinating topics such as the cosmos and nature.  His gentle heart also spread to animals. A pet-enthusiast, Phil treated his cats as if they were his kids.

A 2007 graduate of Botkins High School, Phil served in the United States Army National Guard, before graduating from ITT Tech and becoming an electrical engineer.  His free time was spent curating his coin and precious metals collections or taking friends for rides in one of his beloved cars.  Ever the adventurer, Phil loved being outdoors. Whether it was traveling to a new location or just a local hike, he was ready to experience it.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.  Memorial contributions may be directed to SART, a non-profit cat adoption service through their website at https://sartohio.org/donate/ .  The family has entrusted Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta to handle the arrangements.
