Oconda Lu "Connie" Vermillion

Oconda Lu "Connie" Vermillion, 82, of Waynesfield, passed away at 10:49 p.m., Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at Mercy Health-St. Rita's.

She was born on December 16, 1940 in Wayne Township to Judson and Susan (Spradlin) Dawson who preceded her in death.  On December 10, 1958 she married Raymond Vermillion who passed away on April 14, 2019.

Survivors include 3 children Michael (Lisa) Vermillion of Wichita, KS, Bradley Vermillion of Eureka, CA, Cindy (Don) Kaufman of Waynesfield; 3 grandchildren Carl (Jessica) Kaufman of Harrod, Jesse (Jackie) Vermillion of Rogers, AR, Alyssa Vermillion of Springdale, AR; 6 great-grandchildren Sydney, Jackson, Kendrix, Tyson, Hudson, Harper and a brother David (Shirley) Dawson.

She was preceded in death by a brother Ronald "Doc" Dawson.

Connie was a 1958 graduate of Waynesfield High School.  She was an avid gardener and enjoyed knitting, crocheting and country music.  She was a member of the Voice of Victory Church, Waynesfield.  She and Raymond also enjoyed travelling with Good Sam RV Club.

Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, March 5, 2023 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta with Rev. Kenny Rader officiating.  Burial will follow at Willow Branch Cemetery, Waynesfield.  Family and friends may visit from 2-4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to Wayne Township Fire & Rescue.
