Norville W. Freymuth

Norville W. Freymuth, 89, of Wapakoneta passed away at 11:00 a.m. Thursday May 4, 2017 at his residence.
He was born on July 4, 1927 in Wapakoneta to George J. & Ruth (Walton) Freymuth who preceded him in death. On February 19, 1952 he married Joyce V. Niemeyer and she survives in Wapakoneta.
Survivors include six children; Krista (Doug) Taracuk of Worthington, Steven (Brenda) Freymuth of Wapakoneta, Cheryl Ann Moots of Ft. Wayne, IN, Diane (Lincoln) Davis of Batavia, David (Amy) Freymuth, Daniel (Kathi) Freymuth both of Wapakoneta, 16 grandchildren; Brad & Mark Taracuk, Shawn and Adam Moorman, Garrett Moots, Alyssa & Colten Drexler, Logan Davis, Tyler Freymuth, Staci Brown, Shyla Nino, Shane & Shonda Bowers, Shelby Ruppert, Nick & Randy Schmerge, 19 great-grandchildren and a sister, Faero Linker of Wadsworth.
He was preceded in death by an infant son; Douglas Freymuth, a brother Neal Freymuth, a grandson Patrick Freymuth and a sister Dorothy Sutton.
Norville was a 1945 graduate of Cridersville High School and then attended The Ohio State University where he graduated in 1950 with a degree in Vocational Agriculture. He retired in 1984 after 34 years of teaching Vocational Agriculture at Wapakoneta, New Knoxville and Apollo Career Center. After retirement he served for three terms as an Auglaize County Commissioner until 1996. He was a lifelong farmer and enjoyed raising sheep but most of all he loved teaching.
Memorial services will begin at 2:00 p.m. Monday May 8, 2017 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta where Rev. Joey Quick will officiate. Burial will be at a later date at Pilger Ruhe Cemetery, New Knoxville. Friends may call from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to his wife, Joyce Freymuth as Norville had a great appreciation for education. In honor of him the funds will be used for their grandchildren’s education.
