On August 2, 1969 she married her former spouse Gerald Eyink who survives along with their 3 children, Monty (Jessica) Eyink of Sandy, Utah; Lucinda (Jesse) Serr and Kelli (Ryon) Elmore both of Botkins, OH.

In addition to her children, Nancy loved her 6 grandchildren more than anything: Evan and Jordan Eyink; Raegan, Isabella, and Allayna Serr; and Sage Elmore.

Nancy is survived by sisters-in-law Dottie Manger of Wapakoneta, OH, Charlotte Manger of West Jefferson, OH, Suzanne Manger of The Villages, FL, Ronda Manger of Botkins, OH, and Mary Lou Klopfenstein of St. Mary’s OH; a brother-in-law Rick Brubaker of Sidney, OH along with numerous favorite nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by brothers Robert “Bob” Manger, Donald Manger, Johnny Manger, and Frank Manger along with her sister Ruth Schaub, brothers-in-law Arthur Schaub, Eugene Manger, and Dale Klopfenstein.

Nancy was a lifelong member of Immaculate Conception Church in Botkins, OH and stood as Godmother to many. Her deep-rooted faith and many contributions to the church were a shining example of a life lived in service of God.

She was a graduate of Botkins High School class of 1964. She furthered her education, obtaining multiple levels of certification and degrees at The Ohio State University, Ohio Northern University, and Wright State University where she eventually earned her Masters of Education.

Nancy was a dedicated teacher at Botkins Local Schools for many years, retiring in 2001. She specialized in Mathematics but taught at the Elementary, Jr. High, and High School levels throughout her career as well as individualized tutoring. She worked for FEMA for a number of years following her retirement from teaching. She also taught swim lessons at the Botkins Memorial Pool through the Red Cross.

The abundance of love she exuded throughout her life was extraordinary. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren who describe their Nana as generous, loving, strong, creative, funny, lively, caring, and amazing who gave the best hugs and had an even bigger heart. Her family and friends often said her laugh was famous, her smile was welcoming, and her hugs were legendary.

A Memorial Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at Immaculate Conception Church, Botkins, OH with Rev. Sean Wilson officiating.  A celebration of Nancy’s life and luncheon will follow for friends and family in the basement of the church.

There will be a graveside burial at a later date as Nancy has donated her body to Wright State University, Boonshoft School of Medicine.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, donations to the family will be set aside for a future Nancy Eyink Educational Memorial Fund to continue her love of education.
