Nancy L. Denney left this earth & gained her wings at 4:05 a.m. Monday July 22, 2013 at Shawnee Manor after a courageous battle against cancer.
She was born on December 6, 1942 in Lima, OH to Russell and Carmen (Dardio) White who preceded her in death.
On September 2, 1961 she married Richard "Pat" Denney who survives in Wapakoneta.
Survivors also include a aunt, Ella "Joy" Yoho of Wapakoneta, a son Jeff (Jessica) Denney of Rockford, 3 daughters Carlene Chilcoat, Julie (Jon) Pfister and Stephanie Denney all of Wapakoneta. She was also a proud grandmother to 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren all who survive.
She was preceded in death by a brother Tom White and her step mother Terry White.
Nancy attended Buckland High School where she graduated at the top of her class in 1960. Nancy enjoyed theater, academics & was voted carnival queen. Nancy worked at Auglaize Acres for over 30 years and retired in 2003. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and long time friends Don & Ruth Baker of Uniopolis. She was an avid reader and book collector, she and her grandson Kaden shared a special time bonding over the Harry Potter series.
Funeral services are scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday July 25, 2013 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta. Pastor Don Smith will be officiating. Burial will follow at Buckland Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Auglaize Acres Activity Fund.
