Michael "Mike" "Moe" Green

Michael “Mike” “Moe” Green, 69, of Wapakoneta passed away at 10:53 p.m. Saturday, May 27, 2023 at his residence.

He was born on October 10, 1953 in Lima to Raymond & Martha (Mertz) Green who preceded him in death.  On August 30, 1974 he married Angeline “Angie” Koenig and she survives in Wapakoneta.

Survivors include their 3 children Brian (Stephanie) Green, Natalie (Arby) Turner, Patrick “Pat” (Ashley) Green; 8 grandchildren Abigail, Karston, Jillian, Grant, Adelyn, Alivia, Brayden, Bailey; a niece Tracy (Chuck) Miller; his beloved dog, Maverick and granddog Shelby.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter Amelia Marie Green and a sister Barbara Rae Green.

Mike was a 1971 graduate of Wapakoneta High School.  He enjoyed rock music and being a musician at the age of 16 had his own band where he played drums and guitar.  Mike also served his community as an Emergency Medical Technician with the Wapakoneta Rescue Squad for 5 years.  He was a member of the Eagles and Midwest Shooting Center. Mike retired after 47 years at the Lima Refinery working various positions, mostly in Oil Movement Storage.  He was very humble and will always be remembered for helping those in need.

Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 3, 2023 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta with Rev. Steve Nelson officiating.  Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery.  Family and friends may visit from 2-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the Auglaize County Humane Society and First English Lutheran Church of Wapakoneta.
