Melody C. Thrush

Melody C. Thrush, 76, of St. Johns, departed this earth to be at peace with her husband at 10:20 p.m., Saturday, January 22, 2022.

She was born on December 8, 1945 in St. Marys, OH to Samuel and Cynthia (Davis) Swartz who preceded her in death.  On March 14, 1964 she married Glen W. Thrush Jr. and he passed away on December 16, 2007.

Survivors include 2 children Cindy (Bryan) Grieves of Wapakoneta, Dane (Dawn) Thrush of St. Marys; 5 grandchildren Heather (Tyler) Sosby, Courtney (Riley) Watson, Haley (Jacob) Russell, Madelyn Thrush, Hannah Thrush; 2 great-grandchildren Blake and Kase Sosby.

Melody was preceded in death by 3 brothers Fred, Charles and Sam Swartz.

Melody retired from Otterbein in Cridersville after many years of service. She was a member of St. Johns Volunteer Fire & Rescue Auxiliary. Melody was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys. She could be found on Friday evenings in the stands with her family watching the Wapakoneta Redskins play football. Melody preferred the simpler things in life, like relaxing on the porch with her family. Most of all, Melody lived her life to the fullest with her family by her side.

Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 28, 2022 at St. Johns Methodist Church with Rev. Gary Rummel officiating.  Burial will follow at Mt. Tabor Cemetery, Gutman.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta.

Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
