Marjorie Florene Rasche, 88, of Wapakoneta passed peacefully in her sleep at dawn Monday August 8, 2016 at her residence in the Gardens of Wapakoneta recently where she celebrated her 88th birthday with family and friends.
She was born on July 1, 1928 in Muncie, IN to Fred R. & Vyrle F. (Nelson) Johnson who preceded her in death. Marjorie spent her youth and adolescence in Chicago, IL.
She married William Thomas Rasche and later relocated to St. Marys to raise and care for her growing family. A devoted wife and mother, Marjorie loved nature, music, art, poetry and spirituality with daily meditations. They lived happily until his untimely passing in 1987 at the age of 63 after 40 years of marriage.
Survivors include two sons; Larry (Kendra) Rasche, Terry (Jill) Rasche, her rays of sunshine her loving grandchildren Jennifer, Patrick (Jennifer B.) Michael, Amanda, Taylor, Wesley (Amber), Sarah (John D.), Alexandre and great-grandchildren Reed, Sofia, Sebastian, Tess and a brother Harold (Alice) Johnson of N.C.
She was preceded in death by an infant son; Gary Rasche, a brother Donald (Laurel) Johnson and her loyal and loving companion Baby, who will be sharing Marge's final resting place as requested in her final wishes.
Celebration of Life services will be held on Saturday August 20, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. at Wayne Street Methodist Church of St. Marys.
A gathering of family and friends will follow at the residence of Jill and Terry Rasche at 2626 Adgate Rd. in Shawnee.
