Margaret E. Poppe

Margaret E. "Aggie" Poppe, 88, of Wapakoneta, passed away at 10:38 a.m., Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at Lima Memorial Health System.

She was born on July 28, 1936 in Philadelphia, PA to Harry and Gertrude (Chiles) Hunton who preceded her in death.

Survivors include 3 children Rick (Teresa) Poppe, Tami (Terry) Campbell, Tony (Lora) Poppe all of Wapakoneta; 6 grandchildren Ashley (Dominique) Helmstetter, Amanda Cramer, Adam (Tricia) Cramer, A.J. (Becca) Poppe, Drew (Jennifer) Poppe, Jocelyn (Alex) Purtel; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother Bud (Beverly) Hunton and 2 sisters Jackie (Harold) Peck, Sally (Lowell) Jones.

Margaret was preceded in death by a brother Harry "Pete" Hunton Jr.; a sister-in-law Bonnie Hunton; and a brother-in-law Lee Rice.

Aggie was a 1954 graduate of Blume High School. Her namesake was from Margaret Goodwin, who helped raise them. She retired from Goodyear in 1994 and then moved to Florida although it wasn't long after that she returned back to Wapakoneta to be around her grandchildren.  Aggie always enjoyed being around people and even after retirement she worked at Community Markets and Walmart.  She was also a member of the Eagles 691.

Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 16, 2024 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta with Pastor Gary Bragg officiating.  Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta.  Family and friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to American Cancer Society.
