Margaret L. Kantner 87, of Wapakoneta died at 12:15 a.m. August 13, 2013 at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
She was born September 19, 1925 in Lima, OH to Alvie Warren and Edith (Hoaglin) Hall who preceded her in death. On October 10, 1943 she married Emmet L. Kantner and he passed away on July 31, 2003.
She is survived by a son and a daughter; Charles (Joy) Kantner and Kay (Tom) Vehorn both of Wapakoneta, six grandchildren Clay (Kim) Kantner of Wapakoneta, Kyle (Gina) Kantner of Dublin, Kara (David) Barr of Westerville, Lisa (Drew) Block of Wapakoneta, Russell (Jenny) Vehorn of West Chester, and Nick Vehorn of Melbourne, Australia, 13 great-grandchildren Evan, Rachel and Aiden Kantner, Abram and Emmett Kantner, Adam and Elaina Barr, Griffin, Elliott, and Tyler Block, Liam, Sullivan and Graham Vehorn, two sisters Evelyn Schaub and Mary Holtzapple, a sister-in-law Lois (Don) Stinebaugh, and a brother-in-law Earl (Onnalee) Kantner.
She was preceded in death by a brother Geneo Hall.
Margaret was a 1943 graduate of Blume High School. She had been employed at G.A. Wintzer and then became a farm wife. She was a member of First English Lutheran Church, Wapakoneta where she was part of the Lutheran Daughters. She was also a member of the Wapakoneta Women's Club. She enjoyed going to Florida in the winters and being with friends. She also enjoyed square dancing and in her early years had sung at weddings.
Funeral services are scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m. Sunday August 18, 2013 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta. Pastor Deb Domeier will be officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to St. Rita's Hospice or First English Lutheran Church.
