Lloyd L. "Bud" Mathwig Jr. 67, of Lima, died at 6:17 A.M. July 6, 2012 at his residence.
He was born October 7, 1944 in Caliente, Nevada to Lloyd L. "Matt" Sr. & Rose (Smith) Mathwig who preceded him in death.
On May 20, 2003 he married his high school sweetheart and soul mate Dona Custer in Gatlinburg, TN, after a 26 year separation. She survives in Lima.
Lloyd retired from B.P. Chemical Company, Ammonia Unit. He was a member of their Quarter Century Club and their workers union. He was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Cavaliers, and OSU Buckeyes. He loved to travel and work in the yard with his flowers. He loved his step-children and step-grandchildren and thought of them as his own.
Survivors include 4 daughters; Teresa (Dwayne) Decker, Spencerville, Donna (Tom) Medley, Haines City, FL, Tonya Pride of Cairo, and Crystal (Nate Fuerst) Michael of Lima; one son Jeffrey Mathwig of Columbus; one sister Martha "Marty" (Ronnie) Swartz of San Diego, CA; 19 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and his ex-wife Linda who survives in Cairo.
He was preceded in death by 2 sons; Jimmy & David Mathwig, father and mother-in-law Bill & Mary Custer, 1 sister Carol Lindeman and step-mother Hope Mathwig.
Funeral services are scheduled to begin at 11:30 A.M. Tuesday July, 10, 2012 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 Monday at the funeral home.
