Keelin M. Doty Profile Photo
Keelin Michelle "George" Doty, 7, of Waynesfield grew her wings the morning of Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at her residence.
She was born September 23, 2008 in Lima, to Shawn M. & Amanda S. (Lhamon) Doty, who survive in Waynesfield.
Survivors include her grandparents, Joe Lhamon, Elaine Tilton, Charlie & Sally Doty, Joe & Shelva Gilroy; great-grandmothers, Wanda Shaw and Joann Sheets; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Keelin grew her wings with her sister, Trinity and beloved dog, Razor. Keelin was "mother henned" by Trinity, the sisters were truly inseparable. The girls loved their parents with all their hearts, wrestling with dad was their nightly ritual. They grew up loving the fresh air and being outdoors... riding bikes and four wheelers, shooting their guns, and building hay forts in the barn with their friends. Time spent inside revolved around Legos, watching Ridiculousness, and Monster High Dolls, who sing, "When you hold your head up high, and look up into the night, I'm falling out of the sky, I'm falling out of the sky! 'Cause we are shooting stars! Light it up, be who you are!"
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, John T. "Jack" Tilton; great-grandparents, Charles & Dixie Doty, Charles G. Sheets, Samuel F. Shaw, Glen & Rose Lhamon; and special friend, Carl J. "J-Bird" Cummins.
Keelin was a first grader at Waynesfield-Goshen Elementary School and was going to become a 4-H Cloverbud. She loved all animals and enjoyed raising chickens. In her quiet time, she played with her Ugglys Pet Shop and hung out with her dad in his shop, working on pulling trucks and tractors. This girl had no fear; she loved watching MMA Fighting, and aspired to become a MMA fighter.
A community memorial service will begin at 6:00 p.m. Monday, March 28, 2016 at the Waynesfield-Goshen High School Gymnasium. Rev. Don Smith and Rev. Pam Spencer will co-officiate. The family has requested those attending to wear purple and orange, which were the girls' favorite colors.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity & Keelin Doty Benefit Account, at any branch of Superior Credit Union. These donations will be used to create a 4-H Scholarship in their memory.
A private family burial will take place at a later date at Willow Branch Cemetery.
The family has entrusted Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services to handle the arrangements.
