John "Jack" Goudy 75, of Wapakoneta died at 1:32 a.m. Sunday July 7, 2013 at Wapakoneta Manor.
He was born in Wapakoneta to Norval & Gertrude (Kupper) Goudy who preceded him in death. In 1958 he married Marlene (Gudorf) Goudy at St. Augustine Church in Minster, OH and she survives in Wapakoneta.
Survivors also include three sons; Kurt, Bruce, and Tony Goudy, a daughter Laura (Wade Tuttle) Kelley, 9 grandchildren Susan and Anastasia Goudy, Cara and Christopher Goudy, Jacob, Sara and Emma Goudy, and Luke and Joshua Kelley, 3 great-grandchildren Ian Hall, Ava and Isobella Goudy, and special family Mike, Lori and Jack Zink.
He was preceded in death by three brothers Edward, Paul, Jim Goudy and a sister Evelyn Fogt.
Jack was a 1956 graduate of St. Joseph School in Wapakoneta. He served two years in the United States Marine Corp. at Pendleton, California. He worked one year for Fisher Cheese Co. and then retired after 43 years of service with the Wapakoneta Machine Company as a sales engineer. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Knight of Columbus Council 1272 and the American Legion #330.
Jack's passion in life was golf. He would often show his grandchildren the proper way to swing a golf club. Jack had a wonderful sense of humor, especially about his golf game. He played in the rain, snow and sunshine. His favorite vacation spots were Myrtle Beach and Hilton Head. His last wishes were to have a Big Mac, drink coffee with the gang at the Lucky Steer, and to have his boys to stop smoking.
Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. Thursday July 11, 2013 at St. Joseph Church in the Parish Life Center. Rev. Daniel Hunt will be officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery with military rites being performed by the V.F.W. Post 8445. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta.
