John Charles Geren, 41, previously of Wapakoneta, passed away on July 26, 2019 in Tuscon, Arizona.  Born to Gary and Raelene (Neuman) Geren on March 20, 1978, John was joyously welcomed home by his three older sisters, Lisa, Kristine, and Mary.

Survivors include his wife Lee Ann Feathers; parents Gary and Raelene Geren; sisters Lisa (Ken) Winget, Kristine (Marty) Limbert, and Mary (Larry) Lutz, and nieces and nephews Taylor Winget, Allison Limbert, Mitchell Limbert, Claire Limbert, David Limbert, Sally Fisk, Hanna Rizzo, Haley Geren-Hinegardner, Mia Lutz, and Owen Lutz.

John was preceded in death by his grandparents, Nathan and Maureen Geren, Trudy Horton and Earl Neuman; uncles James Beck, Greg Neuman, and Rodger Geren, and nephew, Teddy Lutz.

A 1996 graduate of Wapakoneta High School, John earned his degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati in 2002.  He was employed by Raytheon.

John was a big man with a loving heart.  He loved, in no particular order, his family, friends, puppies, and kittens.  John especially loved his own Newfoundland, Archie; Bloodhounds, Rudy and Josh; and his rescue kittens, Daeny, Cliff, and Ron.

His greetings always included a big hug and smile. His gloriously infectious laugh made those who heard it wonder what he was up to – and for good reason.

John loved to make people laugh.  He would go to great lengths to do it, often including costumes, props, and for those lucky enough to witness it, his exquisite dance moves.

John loved music and was an accomplished guitarist who could cover anything from Bach to Metallica with ease and great flair.  He was also a huge Star Wars fan, and could talk about stories and characters for hours – and often did.

A Celebration of John’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 3rd at the Wapakoneta Performing Arts Center on the campus of Wapakoneta High School.
