John H. Fisher, 82, of Wapakoneta, passed away at 5:53 p.m., Saturday, January 11, 2025 at Wapak Manor. He was born on March 8, 1942 in Lima, to Francis and Norma (Stinebaugh) Fisher who have preceded him in death. On August 2, 1969 he married Agnes M. Benanzer and she survives.

Survivors also include 3 children Jay (Stephanie) Fisher of Wapakoneta, Teresa (Russell) Fathbruckner of Delaware, Scott (Tara) Fisher of Sidney; 6 grandchildren Shelby (Mason) Cartwright, Kaylee (John) Ellis, Allison Fathbruckner, Austin Fathbruckner, Harrison (Kaleigh Clark) Fisher, Keaton Fisher; 4 great-grandchildren Bryson Cartwright, Joey Ellis, Evy Ellis, Maddy Ellis; 3 sisters Kay (John) Yeamans, Connie (Kent) Thompson, Sharon (Jim) Smeltzly; 6 brothers and sisters-in-law Judy (Victor) Schulze, Mary (Rich) Berning, Ruth Schulze, Rose Muhlenkamp, Louise (Rex) Frey, Joe (Pam) Benanzer and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister Mary Jane "Janie" (Ron) Nester; father and mother-in-law Paul and Naomi (Glynn) Benanzer and brothers-in-law Leroy (Linda) Benanzer, Ed Schulze, Bill Muhlenkamp.

John was a 1960 graduate of St. Joseph High School and then proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserves for 6 years. For 30 years he worked as a machinist at Ford Motor Company, Lima. In his younger years he helped on the family farm. After retirement, John was never one to remain idle. He kept busy by working on projects around the house and spent numerous hours tinkering around in his shop, usually repairing small engines. He enjoyed the outdoors and was often spotted working in his garden, tending to his fruit trees, or cutting wood. He also enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S., going to casinos with his wife and playing cards with family and friends. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, V.F.W. Post 8445 and U.A.W. Local 1219.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 17, 2025 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Sean Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery with military rites being performed by the V.F.W. Post 8445. Family and friends may visit from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday and from 9-10 a.m. on Friday at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to St. Johns Volunteer Fire & Rescue.
