Joanne M. Howard 79, of Wapakoneta died at 2:38 P.M. January 3, 2011 at Wapakoneta Manor.
She was born February 11, 1931 in Botkins, Ohio to Wilbur O. and Helen M. (Copeland) Poppe who preceded her in death. On July 1, 1950 she married Russell N. Howard and he died on November 11, 2010.
She is survived by one son, Joseph R. (Kathleen) Howard of Wapakoneta; two grandsons, Matthew Schmalenberger of Wapakoneta and Jason (Michelle) Howard of Lima; seven great grandchildren; 3 brothers Don (Bonnie) Poppe of Botkins, Marion (Ruth) Poppe of Okeechobee, FL, and Bill (Nancy) Poppe of Wapakoneta; 2 sisters Pat (Woody) Stutsman of Botkins and Carol (David) Salm of Minster.
She was preceded in death by a sister Betty (Roger) Behm.
Mrs. Howard was a 1949 graduate of Botkins High School. She retired from Randall Bearing in Lima after 25 years of service. She loved to cook and especially enjoyed playing Bingo in Wapak.
A private memorial service for both Russell and Joanne will be held at First English Lutheran Church at a later date. There will be no public visitation.
