She was born on January 29, 1974 in Lima, to Bill Purdy and Barb E. (Graessle) Cira. Her father has preceded her in death. Her mother survives in Wapakoneta and her stepfather, Frank Cira, has preceded her in death. On August 8, 2014, she married John E. Goodrich, who survives in Wapakoneta.
Survivors also include five children, Danielle (Amy Halcomb) Purdy, of Piqua, TJ (Alicia) Sprague, of Wapakoneta, Johnny Goodrich, of Wapakoneta, Adrienne (Billy) Jurosic, of Wapakoneta, and Jalen (Brittni Poynter) Goodrich, of Wapakoneta; 14 grandchildren; one brother, Donny (Alicia) Purdy, of Urbana; one sister, Sue Purdy, of Wapakoneta; and an extended family of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
Janice was currently working as a cashier at Community Markets, where she enjoyed seeing her "regulars" that came through her line. She will be remembered as a kind person, always willing to help others. Janice was even able to help others after her passing, through organ and tissue donation. Family was important to Jan, but everyone knew her grandchildren were her favorites. To say she loved them would be an understatement, they were truly the highlight of her life. She was always willing to play with them, especially video games and attended their events when she was able, even though she may not have been feeling her best. When her grandkids weren't available and she wasn't working, Janice loved creating diamond paintings or growing her collection of dolphins.
Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 22, 2024 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Pastor Andrew Atkins will officiate. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Family and friends may visit from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Alpha-1 Foundation.
