James P. "Jim" Klaus 69, of Wapakoneta died at 6:32 A.M. March 19, 2010 at St. Rita's Medical Center.
He was born November 2, 1940 to Philip and Lucinda (Meyer) Klaus in Landeck, Ohio who preceded him death. On October 2, 1959 he married Sandra K. (Shaw) Klaus who survives in Wapakoneta.
He is also survived by seven children; Rebecca (Dale) Dicus, Timothy (Julie) Klaus, and Ronald (Nanette) Klaus all of Wapakoneta; Leanne (Mike) Thompson of Ridgeway, Ohio; Dave (Kim) Klaus of Rochester, WA; John Klaus of Uniopolis; and Suzanne (Scott) Lovejoy of Cridersville; 19 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; 11 brothers and sisters; Albert (Connie) Klaus; Robert (Marilyn) Klaus; Phyllis (George) Seffernick; Louise Renner; Rosemary (Jerry) Hesseling; Dorothy (Doug) Geise; Kenneth (Sandy) Klaus, Philip (Rachel) Klaus; Richard Klaus; Mike (Kim )Klaus; and Cheryl (Joe) Theabold.
He was preceded in death by a sister Ceceila Klaus; a brother-in-law Robert Renner; and one great granddaughter.
Mr. Klaus was a 1958 graduate of Spencerville High School. In 1968 he began farming in Allen and Auglaize counties. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Spencerville. He was also employed as a backhoe operator for Tuttle Construction in Lima.
Services will begin at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 615 N. Dixie Hwy., Wapakoneta. The Rev. Steven Nelson will be officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-8 Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Cridersville Fire and Rescue or to the Auglaize 4-H Building Fund.
