Irene Pummell, 92, of Wapakoneta, passed away at 2:30 a.m. Saturday April 29, 2017 at Lima Memorial Health System, Lima.
She was born on April 16, 1925 in Logan County, OH to William C. & Lois M. (Lenhart) Wagoner who preceded her in death. On October 11, 1946 she married William K. Pummell and he passed away on September 16, 1990.
Survivors include 5 children; Max (Mary) Pummell, of Huntsville, Larry D. Pummell of Wapakoneta, Vickie (Joe) Briggs of Bellefontaine, Rick Pummell, Cathy (Tim) Weber both of Wapakoneta, 15 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, a great-great-granddaughter on the way and a brother Donald (Patty) Wagoner of Florida.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, a great-granddaughter and a brother Carl Max Wagoner.
Irene graduated from Lakeview High School. She then worked at the Lima Army Tank Plant during WWII, DWG Cigar Factory, Lima and The Fisher Cheese Company, Wapakoneta. She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, Wapakoneta and the Uniopolis Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed puzzles, playing cards, sewing but most of all spending time with her family.
Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta with Pastor John Foster officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery, Moulton. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be direct to Salem United Methodist Church.
