Heather W. Zink, 49, of Cridersville, formerly of Gold Hill, N.C., passed away at 8:08 a.m., Sunday, March 26, 2023 at The Ohio State University Medical Center, Columbus.
She was born on December 12, 1973 in Norwalk, CT to George and Sandra (Cobb) Grist. Her father preceded her in death and her mother survives in Florida. On December 4, 1999 she married Danny "Duke" Zink and he survives in Cridersville.
Survivors also include a sister Shannon Leon; 2 half-sisters Cher Germain and Bright Dancing; a brother-in-law Dale Zink; a sister-in-law Kelly Jo Zink-Ernst (Tom); especially close niece Kirstie Ernst and nephew Nicholas Sherrod.
Heather was a 1992 graduate of Gaither High School, Tampa, FL and then attended college and became a vet technician. She loved spending time with Seagraves Equines Missions and Twisted L Performance Horses. She was an avid Doberman rescuer and transporter and helped to foster and place many of them. She was also a member of High Rock Cowboy Church. Heather and Duke owned and operated Duck Feathers Equine Farm from 2013-2022. Heather was a two time kidney transplant recipient and the family asks, in memory of her, to please become an organ donor.
Memorial services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 6, 2023 at St. Paul U.C.C., Wapakoneta with Rev. Mark Bishop officiating. Family and friends may visit one hour prior to the service at the church.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Bluegrass Doberman Rescue or to High Rock Cowboy Church (Denton, NC).
