Harold G. Schaub, 79, of Wapakoneta died Thursday February 4, 2010 at 12:04 A.M. at Lima Memorial Health Systems.
Harold was born July 24, 1930 in Sidney, OH to Ollie & Frieda (Steinke) Schaub who preceded him in death. On April 18, 1953 he married Wanda R. Comer who survives in Wapakoneta.
He is also survived by four daughters; Terry (Rick) Kantner; Marty (John) Limbert both of Wapakoneta; Deb (Craig) Peachey of Gatlinburg, TN; and Lynn (Brian) Shuster of Kettlersville; two sons Michael (Karen) Schaub of Botkins & Russell Schaub of Wapakoneta; a sister Irene (Arnold) Cecil and a brother Melvin (Carol) Schaub of Botkins; 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter in law Heather Schaub.
While growing up Harold enjoyed helping his father farm and being a mechanic. He retired from Stolle Corporation in Sidney in 1991 after 43 years of service. He was a member of St. Johns Catholic Church in Freyburg and the K of C in Wapakoneta. He especially enjoyed restoring antique tractors and was a member of the Buckeye Farm Antiques. He also enjoyed taking his grandchildren camping.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday February 8, 2010 at St. Johns Catholic Church in Freyburg. Burial will follow at the church cemetery where military rites will be performed by the V.F.W. Post 8445. Father Oscar Seger will be officiating. Friends may call from 4-8 Sunday at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services 615 N. Dixie Hwy., Wapakoneta.
