Hannah K. (Egbert) Kohler, 87, of Wapakoneta, Ohio passed away September 9, 2024 in Lima, Ohio. She was born December 11, 1936 in Manchester, Ohio, the daughter of William and Ruth Egbert. Hannah graduated from Anna High School in 1955 and attended Lake Erie College for Women. On May 7, 1960 she married Kenneth Kohler, who preceded her in death.
Hannah will be missed by her daughters Kenda Kohler and Jona (Jim) Limbert of Wapakoneta; grandchildren Travis (Christie) Limbert of Columbus and Kayla (Paul) Lim of Louisville; great-grandchildren Jay, Lexi, and Sam; brother Tom (Kay) Egbert of Circleville; and brother-in-law Charles Freeman of Cridersville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister Kathleen Freeman, and baby brother Howard Shelton.
Hannah retired as the financial secretary for St. Paul United Church of Christ, where she was a member and devout follower. She was active in the church as a member of the women’s guild, Circle Club, Called to Care, and through teaching Sunday school and the Bethel Bible series. She belonged to the Women’s Civic League of Wapakoneta and the Wapakoneta Women’s Club. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, cooking, making greeting cards, gardening, and traveling with family and friends.
Hannah was a kind and devoted woman who took special joy in spending time with family and friends. She especially adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and many others considered her their Grandma K. Hannah was a caretaker who always helped others and put their needs before her own. Her generosity meant that everyone had a seat at her table, no matter their situation, and she made absolute certain that everyone had enough to eat, too. Hannah was a woman of faith and is now with her Creator and family.
Memorial service will begin at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, September 19, 2024 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta with Rev. Scott Fetter officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta. Family and friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to St. Paul U.C.C. Scholarship or to Bridge Hospice.
