Gregory A. "Greg" Yoakam

Gregory Alan “Greg” Yoakam, 59, of Hume passed away at 11:42 p.m. Monday April 16, 2018 at the Cleveland Clinic after a six year battle with complications from cancer.

He was born on April 11, 1959 in Lima, OH to Ronald E. & Jo-an (Baum) Yoakam of Hume.  On March 13, 1991 he married Shelly L. Kent and she survives in Hume.

He is also survived by six children, Joshua (Jennifer Bradley) Williams of Marysville, Natasha (David) Golden of Wapakoneta, Jessika (Eric) Phillips of Elida, Heather (A.J.) Ott of New Knoxville, Ashley Yoakam, Aimee (Grant) Helman both of Lima; 17 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter.

Greg worked for Republic Airways at the Columbus Airport location for over 10 years until about 2 years ago.  He worked as an Aviation Maintenance Technician and then was promoted to supervisor. Greg was well respected and liked by his staff.   Greg’s numerous hobbies included anything to do with aviation, canoes, guitars, woodworking and he enjoyed travelling.

Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday April 21, 2018 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta with Pastor Steven Nelson officiating.  Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family.
